Will switching pay off?

Can one system supply both domestic hot water and hydronic floor heating?

Yes: High-temperature CO₂ and R290 heat-pump systems provide domestic hot water (60–90 °C) and warm water for under-floor hydronic loops. Hydronic heating is efficient, even, and silent, eliminating duct losses found in forced-air systems.

Are the refrigerants environmentally friendly?

Definitely: Reclaim Q-TON units use CO₂ (R744) with a GWP of 1 and zero ozone depletion. HydroHeat's R290 (propane) refrigerant has a GWP of around 3. Both natural refrigerants offer minimal environmental impact compared to synthetic gases.
